While Columbus continues to make expected small incremental gains, nationally, we’re running in place. Our new employment: data centers, chip manufacturing aren’t unique. Personally, and after living here 65+ years, I don’t think Columbus will ever be more than a provincial state capital. That’s not totally negative however. I live downtown so the capitol line and better protected bike lanes are definitely a plus. I'm also excited for not only 3C & D routes but connecting routes to the east coast.

Mankind has been around for 1000's of years, and this is one of those weird things I have thought about. Every society that has risen has fallen at some point, and many times the cities are sacked and built over or abandoned and forgotten for generations. Will my grave be someone's sewer or worse a corn field in 3000 years and my bones be accidentally pulled up by a plow. I also fear cremation thanks to a James Bond Film, and I blame you for reminding me I have no idea what my burial wishes are in my will. May just sling me into outer space.

I feel like light rail is more so a talking point. Yes it would be great if Columbus had a light rail from downtown to German village, campus, the airport, Polaris, Dublin (plenty of spots for it. Ridership would probably be pretty good) But BRT should be nice as well. Columbus needs something! For a city as large as it is the downtown is growing weather people was to believe it or not. The city needs to move people and become less car dependent. I was asked few about 4 years back by a family at the convention center “where is the trains?” I was like uhhhhhhhh about that…. We have busses and only busses lol. Where are you trying to get to? They said “Polaris” I was like well as a family you guys should drive here is how you get there.

I’ve been working at a cemetery for almost eight years. I do the maintenance. Dig the graves, set the monuments etc. Very corporate company that I work for. I recently learned that when a family “purchases” grave spaces they’re actually only renting them for 99 years. The contract states that after that amount of time we can dig them up and reuse the land. Kinda wild and fucked up.

I want the city to assemble trash crews to pick up litter along the roads and highways. When I drive around this town it is so depressing to see all the trash alongside the roads.
